留学３３６日目

虹です虹！！！

実際に見たほうがくっきりしてましたが、

ハッピーだったので載せちゃいます！


今日は朝からEnglishの授業。

３枚短いペーパーが返ってきて

結果は１０点満点中、全部１０点。

おめでとー！！


今日の授業では、たくさんのアメリカ人が刑務所に送られることによって

刑務所の定員をオーパーし始めているという問題についてディスカッションをしました。

理由は、アメリカといえば薬なので、

中毒により再犯が続き、たくさんの囚人が戻ってきてしまったりすることが原因だとか、

刑務所を出た後に、社会になじむことができず、仕事などにも就けないという理由で、

再犯にはしってしまったり。。

今日思ったのは、さすがアメリカ人。　薬のことについてものすごい詳しい！笑

日本人の自分からしてみれば、コカインやら名前の聞いたこともない薬やら、まるで伝説のかのように

薬とはかけ離れている気がするのですが、

アメリカ人にその話を振ると、

それについて話が止まりません。笑

よくもまあそんな知識があるなと。。。

アメリカにいると、そういった薬の意外と身近にあるのかもしれません。。。


さて、今日の英語の授業ではリサーチペーパーのお話が出ました！！！

実は留学する前からこの存在を知っていました。。すごい大変なものと聞いてました。笑

とりあえず、それはどうゆうものかというと、

簡単に言うと、自分であるテーマを決めて、それについてたくさん本を読みリサーチ。

そして、文献を引っ張ってきて、それをまとめる。

そして、自分の場合、文献は５冊以上からひっぱってくるという指定がありまして、

５冊の本を読まないといけない！！

これは恐ろしい。

小説など、面白くて次から次へとページをめくりたくなるような本ならいいのですが、

つまらない論文などを読んで、まとめないといけないのです。

締め切りは１か月後。

来週は

・AIS Paper 4枚

・プレゼンテーション１つ

・中間テスト１つ

・ENGLISH paper 2枚

・統計宿題毎日

の予定でしたが、ここにきてまた増えるとは。。。


さすがに今週末はテスト明けで疲れたので休みますが、


来週からまた気持ち入れなおさないと！！




今日の午後は同じく留学している親友のMと電話で１時間半ほどくっちゃべってました。

最初は、将来について。

アメリカ大学って日本とシステムが違うから、卒業までいろいろな道があるんだなと思いました。

まず、学年っていう考えがないので、留年という概念が存在しない。

それによって、いつ卒業するかというのも、結構自分の選択になってくるんだなーと思いました。

日本だと４年で卒業が正しいとされるが、アメリカではなにが正しいのかわからない。

だから、自分で、自分だけの正しい道を作らないといけないのかなと思った。

何が言いたいのかというと、４年で日本に帰らないほうが自分のためになるなら、もっと長くいてもいいのかなと思ったのです。

まあ、明日アドバイサーの人と、ちょっと話してきます。。。

I had English class from 8 AM.

the teacher gave us back 3 assignments, and I got 10 point out of 10 for all of them!

congratuation!!haha

Today’s discussion in the class was the problem that there are too many people in the jail.

The reason is that because of drug problem, many people return to the jail because of the addiction, or as they just cannot get used to the society, and cannot get job, they commit crime again.

In the discussion, I just thought that american have a lot of knowledge about drugs.

For me, I think that drugs are far away from my concept, and Ive never seen one of those, and I guess most Japanese, too.

However, once american started talking about drug, they never stop.haha

I was surprised at the knowledge…

Anyway, I got a Research Paper today!!

I knew what is that because Ive heard it is very tough assignment.

I have to read at least five books about the topic.

Although I can read 5 novels which makes me flip the next pages, I dont think I can read difficut books so fast.

Due is next month.

Actually, I got the following already….

・AIS ４ papers

・a presentation for AIS

・Midterm for AIS

・ENGLISH 2 paper

・Homework for statistics everyday…

Since I am so tired to study now becuase of this week’s two midterms, I have to work really hard next week!!

from this afternoon, I was talking to my best friend who also study abroad in here by phone.

the topic was about the future.

As the school system of america and Japan is different, I realized that there are a lot of ways to graduate.

first, in japan, it is usual for college students to graduate after exactly 4 years.

However, there is no such concept as that people have to graduate by age 22 in the United States.

Therefore, people can stay at college for more than 4 years.

Then,I realized that I have to decide what is right or not.

what I want to say is that I just thought that if it is for me to stay in university for more than 4 years, I can have the choice.

So Im going to talk to my adviser about it tomorrow….
